For a better world !
“For a better world!” is the humanitarian project connected with our brand
“GREG (GenerationRe-ReGenearation) Scarf”.
With the selling of our scarves we want to participate to build a better world!
We donate 10% of the price of each scarf to a social project who helps to turn our planet in a better place to live.
Our first donation is dedicated to the Kindergarten “Tata Loreta” in Jandira, a slum in São Paulo, Brazil.
The Kindergarten Tata Loreta is one of the numerous activities of the Missionary Group Jandira Onlus (Non-profit Organisation), founded in 1988 by the parish of San Roberto Bellarmino in Rome and São Francisco de Assis in Jandira.
The group Jandira Onlus has as “interface” the local Association Caritas São Francisco and Padre Giancarlo Pacchin (called Gianchi), an Italian missionary who lives in Brazil for over 40 years.
The two non-profit organisations manage a complex of Kindergarten, after-school activities, professional curses and many other projects for more than 500 children and teenager.
Jandira is a city in the urban outskirts of the metropolis São Paulo, where around 120.000 people live, 30% of them under 18 years.
Jandira extends over a territory of 17 km2 and constitutes together with other cities the west part of the metropolis São Paulo.
In these territories, the unemployment and missing infra-structure leads the major part of the population to live in miserable conditions of health, culture, instruction and security.
The Kindergarten Tata Loreta is situated in the quarter Vila Dolores and is included in the project “School and Life”.
The after-school activities are a result of the necessity to keep the kids away from the street when they leave the Kindergarten and the school.
The project School and Live has two main objects: to accompany and stabilize the studies of the pupils and to offer activities which may stimulate the curiosity and the character of the kids, giving them an alternative living instead that of the street, which leads mostly to traffic and drugs.
The reason to choose as first project the Kindergarten Tata Loreta is that we know personally the persons involved in the Missionary Group Jandira and that we have the certainty that the donations revert directly to the activities of the Kindergarten.
There are also familiar and affective reasons because Tata Loreta was Carlos´ adoptive Grandma, who represented for him (and many other children) an important reference during his childhood.
With the inheritance of Tata Loreta it was possible to buy the land to build the Kindergarten in Vila Dolores.
We hope that with this first project may follow others and with this intention we will inaugurate soon our blog “for a better world!” where you can follow our projects and all activities which we find interesting to publish and share.
